On Thursday October 30th the Zumba classes were a bit unusual as our staff and members started the Halloween fun early with a costume class. Members came to Zumba dressed in costumes and enjoyed special theme music and door prizes! Pirate Karen led the morning class and Alex led the evening crew - fun was had by all!
In October our members were given free reign in the Spin room to come up with a list of things you often hear in a Spin class - thank you to everyone that put an idea on the white board. The 25 suggestions have now been put on a ballot and you can vote on your favorite 10. The Top 10 will then be made into a fabulous t-shirt. So vote now!!!!!
Heather Simmons has started to offer Pilates classes on the Reformer and Spine Corrector in her brand new studio located at the Farragut YMCA. Private Sessions are available Monday through Saturday by appointment at an Introductory price of 3 sessions for $150 (Limit one per customer). Semi-Private and Open Mat Classes are also available. We spend alot of time at the YMCA working hard to improve our cardiovascular conditioning or increase our strength and flexibility. We ride hard in the Spin classes, shake it in Zumba, challenge our muscles with free weights and spend hours on the cardio equipment. All of this hard work can leave the body feeling sore and tired.
